Mondays

Inventor’s Workshop

Time: 3:15–4:15pm

We have opened up the workshop for a fun and creative approach in learning about engineering concepts! Students will invent new machines and create different engineering designs. As we go through the steps of the Engineering Design Process, students will explore different fields of engineering disciplines. This includes aerospace, chemical, civil, marine, and mechanical engineering. Students will be able to take home any projects they make during each class.

Organizer: Engineering for Kids

Tuesdays

Atelier d’art avec Anouk

Time: 3:15–4:15pm
Length: 16 Weeks

Children will acquire a profound knowledge of art history, art techniques, and the boundless amount of mediums and materials available in our world. These classes allow students to experiment with the French language while expressing their unique personalities through art.

Wednesdays

Lego Exploration

Time: 3:15 to 4:15pm
Length: 16 Weeks
(EN)

Take your child’s knack for building to another level with iCAMP’s LEGO Engineering Exploration course. In this class, students will use classic LEGO pieces to solve hands-on engineering challenges, like building and stress-testing a bridge, constructing storm-proof towers, and more! Instructors will lead your little engineers through engaging and instructive builds that focus on introducing and reinforcing the engineering design process for each student. Each lesson is also paired with a narrative, explaining the need and purpose behind the simple machines, structures, and tools that the children will construct with the LEGO set.

Organizer: iCamp
Class Fee: $640/semester

Enrichment Class Policies

Sibling Discount:
A 10% discount applies for each additional child registered for the same day of enrichment class.

Changes and Cancellations:
All enrichment classes are contingent upon enrollment and may be canceled prior to the first day if we do not reach the minimum enrollment. The after school enrichment program will be closed whenever Smith Street Arts & Lettres is closed due to inclement weather. Credits will not be issued for days when school is closed due to snow. The school will notify families in the event of an early dismissal due to inclement weather.

Absences:
If your child is not planning to attend their regularly scheduled enrichment class on a particular day, please email us by 2:00pm to indicate a change in your child’s dismissal for the day. If your child should become ill during class, we will call home to have the child picked up from school. If a child misses an enrichment class due to illness or schedule conflict, we cannot offer a refund or a makeup class.

Credit and Refund Policy:

  1. If you notify us a month before the semester begins, you can apply for a 100% credit on your account for a future enrichment class enrollment, or a 75% refund.

  2. If you notify us up to two weeks before the semester begins, you may receive a 100% credit on your account for a future enrichment class enrollment, or 50% refund.

  3. If you notify us one week before the semester begins, no adjustments or credits will be offered.

  4. Enrichment class credits may not be applied to school tuition.

Class Minimum & Wait Lists:
Classes must reach a minimum of five students to run. The determination about whether the class will run will be made the first week of the session. In the event that a class must be canceled due to low enrollment, students may receive a credit toward a spot in a class with space or receive a full refund. If a class fills and goes to a waitlist, students on the waitlist will be registered automatically should a spot become available. You are not obligated to take the spot and a refund will be given if you don’t accept the spot. The software system maintains a list of students in the order in which the registration was received. If you don’t receive a spot, you will be given priority to register during the next session if the class is offered.
